Do you have fussy readers? Do they want to throw the book? Do they throw the book into the bath?

Based on my experiences as a mom and director of the Read To Me Program, this section will offer tips and techniques for making shared reading a success. But always keep a sense of humor.

Feel free to submit more questions to my email susan@readingwithbabies.com, and keep an eye out for more specific Q&A posts that elaborate on some common obstacles you and your child may run into.

Many guidebooks indicate specific ages. In my experience, babies don’t get the memo. They all develop at their own rate. Some babies walk and talk before their 1st birthday. Others speak in full sentences before they are 2, but can’t jump. My charts and guidelines will, therefore, generally describe what the baby CAN do, and offer suggestions based on their developmental stage.
